Simon Marcus, Muay Thai Gold Medal Winner

April 24, 2008

In his own words:

"The tournament I most recently fought in was the Muay Thai World Amateur Championships. It was held in Bangkok, Thailand in 2007 by the WMC-World Muay Thai Council. This is a international tournament where over 100 countries competed in different weight catagories for gold, silver and bronze.

I fought 4 fights in 5 days, and competed against Pakistan, Belguim, Spain and Uzbekistan. I won all my fights—2 by decision and 2 by knock-out—earning for myself, my gym, and Canada, a First Place Gold Medal.

Winning in Bangkok was a big accomplishment for me and my trainers, to compete and win against the best amateur fighters from around the world definitely earns us recognition and respect on a world scale.

The expierience i took from this competition has helped me to become a better fighter and teacher. I plan to keep training, improving my skills and mind so that I can also become champion at a professional level.

Thank you, Bloor St. Boxing & Fitness!"
